hey everyone--robby here! we had a great time at the august jam!
and we have the pics to prove it.
that "charlotte kanikapila" one is my attempt to get the group's name into our thoughts. is "charlotte uke jam" all good? can we get our accumulated thoughts together to go with something else? "kanikapila" is hawaiian for "to get together to play music." it's what they call a jam session. pronounced kan-ee-kah-pee-lah. but give it some thought folks. if we like "charlotte uke jam," then ok. if we want to think of something else, let's talk about it.
Due to the 4th of July Holiday... do not come and jam with us on the 3rd... JAM WITH US ON THE 10th!!!
3-5!
The last one was a lot of fun and we got through a lot of songs. Just bring your self, your uke, or whatever... we have welcomed a trumpet, guitars, and basses before! Just come and jam with us!
Bring about 8-10 copies of a few songs you want to share! Any genre or style! We did everything from Buffet to Metallica last time! A treat too if you want! I will bring the popcorn ;)
Sorry I have not updated the blog lately. It has been one of those busy months for us here! But I am looking forward to the next Jam! Last one was so much fun!
As always we will probably see a lot of old and new faces! Anyone is welcome to come! Beginners to experts!
Bring 10 copies of a few songs you would like to share. I can make copies. But I love it when you already have copies because then I have more time to jam. I do have a copy/printer here though if needed. 1 copy is better than none!
I forgot my camera last time. Luckily a high school photography student came in and took some awesome shots for her class and shared them with us. So, here are some pictures from our last jam. I will make sure I take some video for this next one!
Come with your self, your uke, and about 10 copies of any songs you would like to share. We have a printer and copier here if need be! Let us know if you have any questions!
Thanks everyone for coming out! We had a great time! Here is our group picture and 2 clips I took during the jam. I will try to remember to bring my better video camera next time! So good to meet everyone... UKE ON!!!
Disclaimer: The location where the jam is held now sells ukes. I hosted the jam here before the uke sales. So in no way am I trying to lure you into my shop to buy ukuleles. They just look really nice on the wall. But... the nice thing is... if you need one to play, we have plenty to choose from!
